Motor Vehicles Act, 1988—Section 146—Held,
Section 146 of the Act provides for the necessity for injuries against third
party risk—On a reading of the said provision, there can be no trace of doubt
that the owner of the vehicle is statutorily obliged to obtain an insurance for
the vehicle to cover the third party risk, apart from the exceptions which have
been carved out in the said provision.
